  베경지들　[들] : 1) 지보면 송평리(松坪里) 외평과 고슬 앞에 있는 들이다. 2) 호명면 본리(本里) 가른밭 동북쪽에 있는 들이다.

  베날　[들] : 용문면 하금곡리에 있는 들로, 버들밭 북쪽에 능천리와 접경하고 있다.

  베락골　[골] : 용궁면 산택리 산택(山澤) 동쪽, 또는 용궁면 무지리(舞紙里) 조우골 북쪽에 있는 골짜기로, 벼락이 떨어졌다고 한다.

  베락바우(雷岩) [바위] : 지보면 매창리(梅倉里) 매골 북쪽에 있는 바위로, 벼락을 맞아서 여러 조각이 났다.

[초록] : This paper aims to analyze subjunctive constructions in Beowulf with the purpose of a better comprehension of Old english syntax, which will hopefully lead to more learned understanding of present-day English./ The frequency and ratio of the subjunctives, classified according to their functions, are as follows:/ The primary factor that determined the use of the subjunctive in hypotaxis was not the subordinate nature of the clause, but, as in the case of independent sentences, the speaker's mental attitude towards the semantic content of the expression. Furthermore, the syntactic construction, the introductory connective, or the governing expression did not determine the use and nature of the mood employed in the subordinate clause.

  In Old english independent sentences the conditional subjunctive was chiefly restricted to the apodosis of hypothetical periods. When the third person of the hortative subjunctive was used to express an exhortation or encouragement, etc., it often shaded off into concessive use. The hortative idea may also have been expressed by circumlocutions with auxiliary verbs. The preceptive subjunctive was used to express an instruction in a construction with the auxiliary sculan./ The sceal-construction represented a precept, law, or decree more or less without any personal coloring. Used with reference to fatal necessity, the auxiliary sculan could be regarded as having an indicative function. The auxiliaries willan & sculan were often used in the conditional subjunctive, and willan, sculan, magan, motan in the noun clause of subordinate clauses. In the concessive clauses introduced by peah, it sometimes was difficult to decide whether the reference was to hypothetical ideas or actual facts. It seemed that the auxiliary scylde in conditional clauses couldn't be distinguished morphologically as the indicative or the subjunctive. Moreover, there were some particular cases in which the indicative was used in conditional clauses and the subjunctive in independent clauses. Since the auxiliary mæge in final clauses had the same form morphologically in both the subjunctive and the indicative, it was difficult to distinguish them. The subjunctive was used in consecutive clauses introduced by swa, pæt, pe … ne, etc. Particularly this seemed to be the case to denote notional purpose or result. [목차] : Ⅰ. 서론/ Ⅱ.
